Just who is Diego Lucero?

Diego is a tech-savvy, political, serial entrepreneur based out of Albuquerque, NM that has attempted many things — failed at most of them — and has succeeded in a couple things.

I have a compelling vision that I seek to realize — and it will change the world for the better.

Worth mentioning:

PoliticsBusinessPersonalMy Vision
NM State Legislature
I Ran for a State Representative position in the NM State Legislature a few years ago. I successfully earned all of the signatures needed from registered Republican voters in my district (1000) to be on the ballot.

I was ultimately forced off the ballot with (IMO) an incorrect application of a legal technicality. And legal fees for election law were more expensive than I could afford.

If I were to run again, I like to think that I would win.

NM GOP State Delegate
I was elected as a NM GOP State Delegate for the 2012 elections.

I thought that was nice. Until of course, my votes were ultimately railroaded by the national GOP.

Political Leanings
I am a libertarian, a capitalist, and a property rights activist. I love freedom and business.
Entrepreneur
In the last 10 years, I have started and run a total of 4 businesses. Each with varying degrees of success. They are:

    1. Windows +
    2. Thomas Jefferson Institute
    3. Sunrise Creations
    4. Siam Tek
Failures
Although I have been a major part in at least 4 start-up ventures, I failed terribly with two of them: The Thomas Jefferson Institute and Sunrise Creations.

My first start-up, the Thomas Jefferson Institute was an ambitious idea to educate people on the increasingly-important topics of finance, economics, political theory, and business. TJI failed before it really took off — not just because of inexperience in running a business, but also because of a certain level of laziness.

Another start-up called Sunrise Creations was started by a friend of mine, as an attempt to sell his friend’s music album. He asked for me to head up the overall marketing of the company, including the building and training of a sales team. Sunrise Creations never got off the ground.

Honestly, it was my first real experience with conflicts resulting from personal character. Put simply, I ended up leaving the SC team because I just hated how my friend (the CEO) did business, and I could not stand his almost non-existent personal morals.

Successes
I have enjoyed a moderate amount of success running 2 successful businesses: Windows + and Siam Tek. I have started only one of those two.

Windows + was the first start-up that I was ever involved with and was arguably the most influential on my perspectives on business, success and wealth. Started by a friend of mine, he and his business partner had asked me run the day-to-day operations when his customer base started to reach large numbers.

My current business, Siam Tek, is a vision to connect entrepreneurs, business owners and regular-joes with all the technical and non-technical resources they need to start up a new business and to grow it to become wildly successful.

Out of the two, my current business Siam Tek is by far the most promising.

Web Designer/Developer
I am a website designer and an application developer. I have been doing this for several years now. I love code, computers, and emerging technology.

I love it so much that I started a business.

It’s my hope that I can eventually master the logic and art of code and coding, so that I can start adding tremendous value to other people’s lives.

WordPress Addict
I love WordPress. As a developer, it’s at once: easy to use, complex, interesting, and fun. I have several WordPress blogs floating around the interwebs. Of note: this personal blog, my High School 10-year reunion website, and my business website.
Social Media Addict
I frequent Facebook often. Every now an then, I will tweet. Check out my About.Me.
Student
I love to learn. I may not be enrolled in a traditional school at the moment, but I do frequent online learning websites like Coursera, Treehouse, SkillShare, InfiniteSkills and Blog that Converts.

I also regularly read popular booksin the genres of self-help, investing, economics, and marketing. My favorite books of all time are:

      1. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey
      2. The 8th Habit by Stephen R. Covey
      3. The Other 90% by Robert K. Cooper
      4. Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
      5. Influence by Robert Cialdini
      6. Worthless, Impossible, and Stupid by Daniel Isenberg

      19. The Speed of Trust by Stephen M.R. Covey
Political Economist
In a blog called, “Politics Ruin Everything”, I think it’s obvious that I like to comment on political events.

Here’s a little more about that: my personal understanding of Capitalism, economics, and finance tend to inform my politics so deeply that I like to use economic principles to illustrate, and in some cases, even prove my personal political positions with it.

I also don’t like government meddling in people’s lives. Hence the title of this blog.

Marketing
I have spent over two years in the world of door-to-door sales and several more years running and marketing smaller and larger businesses.

I love sales and everything that has to do with creating, branding, packaging, and selling a company to the world. Illustrating this, I have over 80 books on marketing and business practice in my personal library.

I believe that the best marketing plans are those that are led by an inspiring and unique vision for the world ahead. This informs the logo, the brand, and the ultimate satisfaction of the target consumer.

I want for the world to love marketing as much as I do.

I love business. One of the greatest joys in my life is owning and running my own business for the benefit of all those involved.

It is my belief that businesses can change the world, one customer at a time.

My vision is to create a world where other people are inspired to become “enlightened entrepreneurs”, and serve the benefit of mankind in the process.

Morally, I align with the message of Jesus Christ, as given to his disciples and prophets here on the earth.

And one day, I would like to live all of my life as He did, serving others.
