Today I want to share with you a very fascinating and informative interview that I had with Michael Strong a few years ago. For those of you that have never heard of or met Michael Strong, I have a treat for you today.
Michael is one of the most well-respected thinkers and innovators in the fields of education, entrepreneurship and the concept of creating free market friendly governments from scratch. He’s appeared on many nationally televised programs, and has spoken at 3 different TEDx Conferences.
Michael Strong is a pioneer in education and independent learning. He is the founder of innovative Socratic, Montessori, and Paideia schools and programs in Alaska, Florida, California, Texas, and New Mexico. Michael is co-founder and serves as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Visionary Officer of Radical Social Entrepreneurs (formerly FLOW). He has served over 15 years in K-12 education.
He also headed up a (successful) charter school in Angelfire, NM. The majority of the interview below is about his involvement in developing systems that not only teach children how to learn, but how to think and to apply their knowledge to the real world.
You can read more about him on his biography page on the FLOW website, and also on his personal blog, The Purpose of Education.
Enjoy this treat of an interview with Michael Strong.
